My glucose levels are out of control!

For the past little while my glucose levels have been fluctuating between high and low, but mostly in the high levels. I was put on oral medications to help control my diabetes and I  was told to exercise. I was never told what exercises to do to help with my diabetes. I was not very active during most of my diagnosis. I have not changed my eating habits all that much but I did start to walk this year when I started school, it was in my second month of school that I decided to walk to and from school. My walk both ways, in total amounts to a 2.52 mile walk. I have been a type 2 diabetic since 2010, and my glucose levels have never been stable. Around 21/2 -3 years ago I was put on my first insulin called Lantus, this year I was taken off a lot of my oral medications and put on Humalog Mix 50 to take with each meal. When I have asked on how to help control my glucose levels, I was told to count carbohydrates, well I have never understood how to count carbohydrates. In the later years I was told to portion control, but I was never told if I was going to need snacks and if so of what. I was also never told how to stop being hungry all the time with only the 3 small meals, that were never filling. I have tried the portion control and I don’t like to feel hungry all the time. I am so very tired of feeling like crap all the time.
